Working With The Erotic Body

When I speak about working with the erotic body, I don’t just mean sex. I don’t just mean pleasure. I mean something far wider, deeper, and more essential: the current of life itself moving through your body.

This is eros as beauty, aliveness, and cosmic current.

Your erotic body is the part of you that stirs when truth is spoken, when beauty touches you, when desire rises in your chest, when your hips instinctively sway to music. It is your pulse of vitality, creativity, magnetism, and aliveness. It is the current that births not only lovers but art, laughter, ideas, and new realities.

So, why does it matter?

Most of us have been taught to disconnect from this current. To tone it down, to hide it, to reserve it only for sex behind closed doors – or worse, to associate it with shame and danger. When that happens, life becomes flat. Rituals feel dry. Creativity stalls. Relationships feel functional but not alive.

Reclaiming your erotic body is not indulgence – it’s necessity. Without her, everything dims. With her, though? The colours return.

Everyday Eros

Working with the erotic body doesn’t always look dramatic. Sometimes it’s as simple as letting a wave of sensation move through you.

Not long ago, I found myself feeling shy in conversation. Instead of pushing it away, I let the shyness be there. My hands instinctively folded under my chin, my body curling slightly inward. The other person noticed and laughed, “Body language!” – and I laughed too, because the body doesn’t lie.

But here’s the magic: as I allowed the shyness to move through me, it didn’t stay stuck. It shifted. What began as contraction soon softened into warmth, into affection, into a genuine moment of connection.

That is the erotic body at work. Not because it was sexual, but because it was alive. Because I didn’t suppress the sensation… I let it flow, transform, and open the door to something more.

What this looks like in practice

Working with the erotic body doesn’t require performance or theatrics. It begins in the smallest ways:

  • Breath that drops you into your hips and belly.
  • Touch that isn’t about outcome, but about saying hello to your own skin.
  • Movement that follows impulse instead of routine.
  • Sound that lets energy release instead of being swallowed.
  • Attention that notices what delights you, what turns you on to life.

Even waiting for your laptop to charge, while you stroke the rim of your coffee cup with your finger, is a spell when you’re attuned to the pulse of your own field.

The erotic body isn’t just aroused – she is awake. To beauty. To rhythm. To choice. To life.

In sessions, this work might look like guided breath, sound, or movement practices. It might include ritual touch, energy awareness, or exploring edges of desire and permission. Always, it is about learning to feel more, not less.

Erotic sovereignty

At the heart of this practice is sovereignty. Working with your erotic body means you become the one who knows how to tend your own fire. You no longer postpone aliveness until the right lover, the right time, or the right circumstance. You reclaim your body as an altar of pleasure, truth, and power… here and now. What does your body need? What does it want to tell you? What delights are waiting … if you start to follow the body’s threads?

The invitation

To work with your erotic body is to come home to yourself. To remember that you were not designed for a muted life, but for a full-spectrum one. To let your longing, your magic, and your joy move through you again.

This is not about sex for sex’s sake. It is about eros as the holy current that animates everything. When you work with your erotic body, you are not just more turned on, you are simply more alive.

The Simple Key That Unlocks Pandora’s Box

It’s something we were all told just so many times:

You’ve got a brain!! Now, use it!

Yep. That was the drill, eh? Using that little grey noggin of yours was considered the only truly valuable thing. It was the one thing you could count on to give you the answer – everything from Pythagoras’ theorem, to existential despair, to how to recover from your post-drunk-dialling shame.

Oh, if only you were just a little bit smarter…

They even said we only use 10% of our brain’s capacity – so we tried to train it harder, use it better, be more clever. That’s what you did – even in your most confused and discombobulated states. And if you were “smart”? Well then, you were worthy. If not… oh well. Tow yard for you.

So, you grew into your blessed adult self, attempting so valiantly to give the impression of total control.

Yet…

In truth…

Let’s face it – you’d be there, writing to-do lists, weighing up pros and cons, going in endless loops, scratching the very head you had to stop yourself from banging against the wall.

Like: What the hell is this confuddling maze?

What to say? What to do next?

Hmm… what a tangled web we weave —
when first we practice to deceive… ourselves.

Because here’s the real twist:
The biggest obstacle is the belief that all your life’s problems can be solved by turning the volume up in your head.

I once believed it too. Until I got so tired of the mind-loops.
Of figure-of-eights that held me hostage to psychological patterns I couldn’t think my way out of.

Dramatic, much? (Well, I do have a boatload of planets in Scorpio…)

But honestly, now. If your brain knew how to fix your life, then why are you still lying awake at night?

The Truth They Never Taught You at School:

“Don’t think. Feel.”
It’s been meme-d to death, but it’s the key to everything.

As Nietzsche said:
“There is more wisdom in your body than in your deepest philosophy.”

Yes, the body is intelligent – and modern science is finally catching up. But this kind of wisdom isn’t just about wellness or nutrition. This is the wisdom known in shamanic, magical, and occult circles:

Your body is the messenger of your Soul

Every single cell responds to every thought, every word, every vibration.
As Louise Hay said: “Every cell in your body is listening to your thoughts.”

Yes, the body can heal itself –  just look at the rise of juice and water fasting. But what about answers? What about guidance?

What if the answers you’ve been searching for… were already there?

What if your beautiful, fleshy, sensual, meaty body – the same one that has carried you without complaint since birth – is the actual oracle of your soul?

That sounds profound… because it is.

Like all myth and magic, the greatest truths are hidden in plain sight.

And some call it gut instinct, but it really is the whole damn package. The whole snapshot of the Universe that is you is vibrating; all your atoms and cells are talking… and they have so, so much to share.

What We Forgot When We Left the Forest

The functioning of (what is essentially) our incredible multidimensional bodies got forgotten about, dismissed and denied just as soon as humanity started making its plunge to more matrixy realms – away from the teachings of Nature,  and towards the delights of the Church instead, and all those patriarchal institutions based on mind, rationality, logic and control…

…leaving its old shamanic roots for dust in its trails.

We didn’t just lose our wildness. We lost our body’s intelligence. We became disconnected from the way the whole system speaks – through gut instinct, breath, sensation, tremor, pain, pleasure.

And let’s be clear – this isn’t about love, light, and fluffy bunnies.

The journey back to the body is often a long one.
Why? Because the mind doesn’t want to die.
It knows it’s not real… but it doesn’t want to let go.

But oh, the moment you choose to dive deep –
To rip the plaster off, to fall down the well –
This is where your power begins.

Because living in the dreamworld of the mind – in Samskara, the karmic maze of repetition – only leads you further into disconnection.

Life becomes a drama.
Every situation feels like déjà vu.
Different outfit, same damn emotional spiral.

And the longer you ignore the truth, the more extreme your experiences become – until the only way forward is through the body.

Everything in your reality is a reflection of your energy.
So, then… here’s the question:

What’s it going to take?

The Descent is the Doorway

The good news? Once you leap, the rest is history.

Falling into the body can happen in an instant.
The moment you stop trying to think your way out…
And instead, let yourself drop =
into sensation, into breath, into the silence of your own fertile soil…

…that’s when the answers come.

As Byron Katie said,

“A question, when asked in stillness, is an opportunity to be shown what is true, beyond what we think we know.”

By simply feeling what is present – especially those sensations that you don’t consciously like – you open a portal. You begin to receive.

Tuning into your body’s messages is like sitting with Mother Ayahuasca on a multidimensional carpet ride. Because what else is your body but Nature itself?
A living, breathing snapshot of the Universe.

You don’t have to seek.
You don’t have to go anywhere

As Glinda, the Good Witch, said to Dorothy:

“You had the power all along, my dear.”
